Agent-HLE Competition Terms

Humanity's Last Exam for Agents

1. Prize Pool Sponsor

This prize pool is sponsored by UC Berkeley Center for Responsible, Decentralized Intelligence (RDI).

2. Eligibility

  • We cannot give awards to individuals on US terrorist lists or those subject to sanctions.
  • Sponsor may confirm the legality of sending prize money to winners who are residents of countries outside of the United States.
  • Employees or current contractors of UC Berkeley RDI and contest organizers are not eligible to win prizes.
  • Entrants must be over the age of 18.
  • By entering the contest, entrants agree to these Terms & Conditions.

3. Judging & Selection

  • Winners will be notified via email prior to paper publication.
  • UC Berkeley RDI organizers will judge the workflow submissions.
  • Only contributors of accepted workflows are eligible for prizes.
  • All decisions of judges are final.

4. Prizes & Payment

Prize Structure:

Top 10 workflows: $1,000 each
Next 100 workflows: $100 each
All accepted contributions: co-authorship guaranteed
  • The legality of accepting the prize in his or her country is the responsibility of the winner.
  • All taxes are the responsibility of the winner.

5. Co-authorship Terms

  • All accepted workflow contributions will be acknowledged with co-authorship on planned academic publications, including submissions to NeurIPS and Nature family journals.
  • Co-authorship is optional; contributors may opt out if preferred.
  • Contributors will be listed in the author list or acknowledgments section according to their preference.
  • Contributors will be notified and given the opportunity to review the manuscript before submission.

6. Data Usage & License

  • By submitting a workflow, entrant grants UC Berkeley RDI a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute the workflow for research and benchmarking purposes.
  • Submitted workflows may be included in the publicly released Agent-HLE benchmark dataset.
  • Contributors will be credited for their contributions.
  • UC Berkeley RDI reserves the right to modify or adapt submitted workflows for inclusion in the benchmark, while preserving the core evaluation criteria defined by the contributor.

7. Submission Warranties

By submitting an entry, entrant represents and warrants that:

  1. (a)the entry is entrant's original work;
  2. (b)entrant owns any copyright applicable to the entry;
  3. (c)the entry does not violate, in whole or in part, any existing copyright, trademark, patent or any other intellectual property right of any other person, organization or entity;
  4. (d)entrant has confirmed and is unaware of any contractual obligations entrant has which may be inconsistent with these Terms and Conditions and the rights entrant is required to have in the entry, including but not limited to any prohibitions, obligations or limitations arising from any current or former employment arrangement entrant may have;
  5. (e)entrant is not disclosing the confidential, trade secret or proprietary information of any other person or entity, including any obligation entrant may have arising from any current or former employment, without authorization or a license;
  6. (f)entrant has full power and all legal rights to submit an entry in full compliance with these Terms and Conditions.

8. Sensitive Data Requirements

Healthcare Data

  • Workflows must not contain any Protected Health Information (PHI) as defined by HIPAA.
  • All patient data must be de-identified or synthetic.
  • Entrants are responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable healthcare data protection regulations.

Financial Data

  • Workflows must not contain any personally identifiable financial information.
  • All financial data must be anonymized, aggregated, or synthetic.
  • Entrants are responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable financial data protection regulations.

Enterprise Data

  • Workflows must not contain proprietary business information, trade secrets, or confidential enterprise data without proper authorization.
  • Entrants must ensure they have the right to share any enterprise-related workflows.

9. Liability Disclaimer

  • Entrants agree that UC Berkeley RDI shall not be liable to entrants for any type of damages that arise out of or are related to the contest and/or the prizes.
  • UC Berkeley RDI reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Any changes will be communicated to participants via email.
